The cause: This is an evening with activists from The Black Fish, a new marine activist organisation that was founded last year with the aim to initiate more action for the protection of sea life within Europe. Since the founding of the organisation only 12 months ago, a number of campaigns have already had success, such as the closing of a dolphinarium in Germany, the release of dolphins at the dolphin hunt in Taiji, Japan, and an investigation into destructive fisheries in Europe.
The event: Wietse van der Werf, co-founder of the new marine protection organisation The Black Fish, will talk about the problems surrounding industrial fishing and the ongoing destruction of the marine habitats which goes by relatively unnoticed in European seas. Illegal whaling as continued by the nations of Iceland and Norway, as well as animals captured for the entertainment industry will also be discussed. The Black Fish is preparing for campaigns at sea and is rallying support to make it happen. Join them in making a difference!
The Black Fish now is preparing for campaigns at sea to take action on the most illegal and destructive fishing operations which plague European seas. Get involved and join a growing movement of people who care. For more information, please visit www.theblackfish.org
